It’s Not a Life Sentence is a guide to discovering—or, perhaps, rediscovering—your genuine self. Parents, teachers, spouses, friends, offspring, colleagues: all of them have expectations about who we are, how we should behave, and what we should value. On top of all that, we’re bombarded by the media—television, publications, internet sites, social networks, each with messages ranging from news clips to the hottest new tech gadget, all of which draw our attention outward. At some point, many of us realize we’ve lost touch with our selves. It’s Not a Life Sentence is a guided exploration into who you are, the person at your core.
The book is available in paperback on Amazon or direct from Infinity Publishing. For awhile, it was available from Amazon as an e-book until I ordered a copy and discovered the formatting was appalling. That's a long story; I'll spare you the details. To make a long story short, I read the book again and, to my surprise, discovered it seemed somewhat dated--not in the major ideas but in certain references (or lack thereof) to technological and social advances that now, a few years after the initial writing, have become a common part of the landscape of our lives. As a result, I've written a lightly revised version. Temporarily a download of this new digital version is available free of charge on "The Book" page. Take a look.
